As a volunteer instructional designer for the Konbit Saradi / RADIKAL micro-franchise programme, I helped design training materials for street-food vendors across Haiti’s Southern Peninsula — learners who are mostly women, often the sole earner for a large family, working 10–13 hour days with low formal literacy and almost no time to train. The design problem: how do you teach a business skill to someone who cannot stop to read, and may not read at all?

I designed and built OVERSTEP, a cross-platform AI language-learning app that generates practice on demand for any language a learner asks for — from Japanese and Chinese to endangered languages like Rapa Nui — and evaluates every answer with an explanation instead of a simple right/wrong. It is live on the Apple App Store.

I developed a web application that automatically transcribes audio files and identifies different speakers in conversations using OpenAI’s Whisper model and speaker diarization technologies, creating a powerful tool for transcription needs.

I spearheaded the development of a Virtual Patient Simulation for a personalized cancer treatment course in my role as a Ph.D. Candidate. This project integrated cutting-edge interactive technologies with medical education to improve clinical reasoning and enhance knowledge transfer among second-years medical students.

I joined Farragut Academy Dongguan in JUN 2020 as a CS Teacher, LMS Manager & Coordinator. At Farragut, I was responsible for developing comprehensive computer science curricula and implementing innovative teaching strategies. My work centered on integrating interactive learning methods and efficient e-learning platforms to empower students and enhance learning outcomes.

I joined RingCentral at Oct. 2015 as a Front-end Engineer. RingCentral, as a big Silicon-Vally-based company, encourages employees to explore under the deep water to grab a better understanding of how to organize a project. Besides basic coding, I learned how to organize project with scrum methodology, ATTD process, and project deploy management. After working here, I improved my code style, communication skill, cross-team collaboration, and problem solving skills

I learned GitHub pages by myself while my Godaddy service was shut down and they didn’t have any back up. GitHub pages was a very handy tool for very quickly hosting web pages with almost none cost. I learned GitHub Pages and helped to quickly constructed several websites including my portfolio website.

I hand crafted my own marriage website with Bootstrap. To make life easier, my marriage service website integrated Email service, and WeChat app design system. My website helped me managing guest registrations, delivering invitation letters, planning events, and exhibiting photos.

I worked at Citi Group Market and Media Communication Department as a Front-end Developer. I closely worked with project manager and client relationship manager to build Mini-site as required.

During my academic years, I spent a lot of time working on the interactive concept. While I was working at Evolving Technologies Corporation, my colleagues and I developed several interactive web application by using JavaScript and Unity 3D engine, including 3D earthquake data visualization, Story tree, and Leap Motion helicopter.

I learned HTML, CSS, and JS all by myself and also participated some application development. This one was the first site that I have to organize, design, and code independently.

I was very lucky to get involved in the performance which was hosted by New York Chinese Opera Society. I designed the playbill for the performance at Naugatuck Valley community college. I was excited that I could assist them make the show happen.

My major, Integrated Digital Media, led me think of the concept of interaction and user experience. These are two of the projects I designed in my first semester. In the Gesture Game project I used a color recognition code and sound detection code to make it interactive. In the program, my team designed an immersive virtual campus environment.

After I graduated from Communication University of China in Nanjing, I worked for Nanjing TV station. I began with internship at technical support department, and then translate to the advertisement department.

This is the first completed game I did during my sophomore year. The background was based on my undergraduate campus.
